het_idcrack challenge over on LJ. The prompt was Law & Order #11: Alex is feeling a little frisky, so she jumps Bobby in the SUV. This kind of got all mixed up in my head with two other things:
1) My longstanding wish for more fic that features Alex Eames Being Awesome... because she is, and she does not often get her due in canon.
2) More general thoughts I've been having while reading around the internets recently, to do with women (a) owning their awesome (both professionally and personally), and (b) having desires and acting upon them, and this being treated as positive and healthy. I want there to be more fic in which we see awesome female characters doing both these things.
...and thus emerged this story, in which Alex kicks butt and takes names, in a few different ways. I was hoping for something that would also succeed at #2 above, in a lighthearted way...I would be very interested to know what other folks think.

Rating: Hard R for grown-ups doing grown-up things. Possibly even NC-17? I am not sure how to judge these things.
Spoilers: vague ones for Law & Order: Criminal Intent, seasons 6 and 7
Warnings: some description/discussion of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Summary: No, she tells herself. You are *not* seriously considering jumping your partner's bones right here in the parking lot in front of God and everyone.
ETA: I forgot to say that this story is set in the same "universe" as all my other LOCI fics, in which Bobby and Alex have been in a relationship since somewhere around the middle of season 4. They've had some rocky times recently, though...
