Summary: Once Hilda finds that Zephyr is indispensable, she places more responsibility within her operation upon her, but more than that, she considers Madeleine and Kris close friends. An incident at an auction in which Hilda feels the need to take care of unfinished business regarding Zephyr leaves her with more ponies than planned in a time when things are changing for her and Geoffrey an leaves Madeleine with difficult memories to contend with.
Warning: Parts of this piece are a little more emotionally distressing than previous pieces in the series.
A/N: Not overly smut heavy, but the bulk of it is femslash.
